We would like to clarify this review for other customers.
Our product description clearly states that the Iron Guard is made from Teflon, so the material is clearly disclosed before purchase.
Teflon, which is made from PTFE, is specifically valued for its heat resistant and non stick properties. PTFE is rated for continuous use at temperatures up to 260°C. The maximum temperature specified for normal domestic ironing is 210°C, which is 50°C below this recommended maximum. Therefore, when an iron and the Iron Guard are used correctly and as intended, the Teflon should remain well within its recommended operating temperature. The potential for harmful PTFE fumes arises when the material is excessively overheated and begins to break down, not through normal ironing use.
The purpose of our Teflon Iron Guard is to provide an effective non stick surface that helps prevent sticking, scorching and shine on fabrics.
We are therefore disappointed to receive a negative review based solely on the product being made from Teflon when this is clearly stated in the product description and the material is specifically used for its heat resistant and non stick properties.
